    gain an FETAC credit in Care Skills at Level 5. It is a
    mandatory module for the Level 5 Certificate in Healthcare
    Support.

    The module is designed to equip the learner with the skills and
    knowledge to care for clients in a safe and hygienic
    environment.

  • This module explores the nursing profession. It introduces the
    learner to the caring role of the nurse and emphasises the
    importance of interpersonal communication.

    The module is mandatory for the Level 5 Certificate in
    Community and Health Services - Nursing Studies award.

    Portfolio of Assessment:
    Examination (Theory-Based) 50%
    Skills Demonstration 50%

  • This module is a statement of the standards to be achieved to
    gain an FETAC credit in Care Support. It is a mandatory
    module for the Level 5 Certificate in Healthcare Support.

    This module is designed to equip the learner with the skills and
    knowledge to work effectively in a care setting. The module
    aims to promote good practice and respect for diversity in
    lifestyle, religion and culture in care work.

  • This module is a statement of the standards to be achieved to
    gain a FETAC credit in “A Palliative Care Approach” at Level
    5. It is an elective module for the Level 5 Certificate in
    Healthcare Support.

    The module is designed to equip the learner with the knowledge
    and skills of the palliative care approach to enable them to care
    for the person diagnosed with a life-limiting illness and, in the
    last days of a person’s life and also his/her family in a dignified and holistic way.

  • This module is a statement of the standards to be achieved to
    gain an FETAC credit in Care of the Older Person at Level 5. It
    is an elective module for the National Vocational Certificate
    Level 5 – Healthcare Support.

    The module is designed to equip learners with the knowledge
    and skills to provide care for older people in a variety of
    settings.

    Skills Demonstration 60%
    Project 40%
  • The Certificate in Food Hygiene is delivered through comprehensive notes and Powerpoint presentations at both Stage I and II of Level I of the FSAI Guidelines.

    The Examination is conducted through a timed Multiple Choice Exam and Certificates are issued five days after completion of the examination once the candidate is successful. This course is accredited by Bourke College Dublin.
